A mother of a first year student of Wa senior high school has apply to withdraw her defiled daughter’s case from Bole Magistrate court on the second sitting of the court though the suspect, David A-em agreed to have committed the crime and pleaded guilty on January 8 when the court had its first hearing of the case.
The 15 years old girl was defiled under sedative by a 29 years old dispensary assistant of Bole District Hospital in the Savannah region on January 5 when she went to the hospital for a drug from the suspect.Police of the Bole -Bamboi District Command arrested and processed the suspect for court on receiving a complain from the victim’s mother. It is however unclear, the motivation of the mother to withdraw the case after the matter has gained a lot of public interest and support with the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) issuing a statement to condemn and promise “to follow this matter closely to the later” in pursuance of justice for the victim.
The case has been adjourned to January 22 upon the magistrate receiving an application from the witness and complainant who was the mother of the victim. Content of the letter was however not made known to the public after the prosecutor read the heading of the letter to the magistrate and the audience. The victim has since been undergoing health challenges and was admitted to a hospital in Wa in the upper west region but discharged to go back to the classroom.
