Manchester United fans all over the world are ecstatic about their formal player Cristiano Ronaldo decision to play for his previous club, where he became a world star during six seasons from 2003 through 2009 after his end with the Italian football club giant, Juventus.
Over the past few years, the performance of the club is appalling. The English Premier league club has never been the same since the Scottish manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, retired on the 8 of May 2013.
There have been many managers who have struggled to win the best world’s league- Premier League, for the club but to no avail.
The likes of José Mourinho, Ryan Giggs Louis van Gaal could not make the club achieve it aim. Currently the club is under the administration of Ole Gunnar Solskær who managed to place the club on second position with seventy-eight-point last season.
Apparently, the reigning English champions, Manchester City had an eye for the top scorer in Serie A last season (29 goals), but the Red Devils quickly ambushed the 37-year-old with a transfer fee of $33 million.
The enthusiasm shown by Manchester United fans when the club revealed Ronaldo’s position to be played on the field was overwhelmingly. Ronaldo has been handed the Manchester United’s iconic number seven position from Edinson Cavani and Cavani will now wear the number 2, a number that has never worn at club level.
When Ronaldo was announced to be playing for the club with Newcastle, it was a dream come through for most Man. United fans. Fans were clad in Manchester United number 7 jersey to support Ronaldo at Old Trafford. The game, which was referred by an England referee, Anthony Taylor had 4-1 scores after the ninety-two minutes.
Manchester United, Ronaldo did not disappoint, he scored two goals, the first goal on the forty sixth minutes and his second goal which was assisted by Luke Shaw on the sixty second minutes. Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard came through with one goal each for the club.
The joy on the face of the fans at the field could not express how most fans felt for the return of the legend, Cristiano Ronaldo. Social media enthusiast took it online expressing how they felt and hope the club bounce back with the hashtag #CR7IsBack trending number one on Twitter globally.
