GHANAIANS ANTICIPATES BOXING STAR’s ARRIVAL.

American based Ghanaian boxing star Joseph Awinongya JNR’s arrival to his native country, Ghana, puts boxing federation and centres in the country on the verge of high anticipation.

Awinongya JNR, slated to arrive at the Kotoka International Airport on Sunday February 6th, 2022, already possesses these titles under his belt,                  2x USA Boxing (national champion),  3x silver Gloves (national champion), 1x National Eastern (Qualifier champion),                                       2x Saint Louis (national champion),    1x King of The Jungle (national champion),                                      1x Power Gloves (National champion) and 2x Indian Summer (Boxing National champion), is scheduled to meet high profile persons in the country including the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu, Youth and Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, former world boxing champions Azumah Nelson and Ike Quartey, Ex-Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan et al.                                                 Born and raised in Illinois, Chicago, this is Awinongya JNR’s first trip to the country his parents hail from. Senior Awinongya,  a descendant of Amanga, a town in the Bolgatanga of the Northern part of Ghana also practiced boxing profession at his youthful years and therefore serves as a mentor and trainer to his future prospect.

In Chicago, Secretary of State for Illinois, Jesse White, awarded young Awinongya with his name on a number plate for a perfect role modeling and exemplarily behaviour for the youth in Illinois.

His visit will be captured to feature in his upcoming documentary ‘Fight in America Back to Africa’.
