The 2021 African University College of Communications Students Representative Council (SRC) electioneering process has commenced. The Electoral Commission of the SRC will soon announce nomination date for aspirants seeking to contest various positions to pick and subsequently file their nomination forms. But even before the opening of nominations, various aspirants have been combing the campus to win votes of electorates (students).
In the quest to lead the student’s front and ensure that the safety, security and welfare of students are improved upon in AUCC, many students form teams which fight to stand tall among others to take the SRC Presidential Throne.
According some students, the elections will be competitive amongst two aspirants, Kekeli Adamtey Foster and Samuel Agyakwa Okadie. The two will slug it out for the presidential slot .
Kekeli Adamtey Foster (a communications student) believes his popularity coupled with his strength over his main contender will usher him into victory. “Elections on campus (AUCC) comes with your popularity and how you interact with the student body, I must say for now I have done that and keep doing that, aside all the above mentioned weighing my contender’s strengths and weaknesses I can say I have what it takes to win all other things being equal I’m a better candidate compared to my opponent. We need a dedicated and competent leader to champion the “students welfare agenda”, an empathetic, bold , courageous and decisive leader who will seek the interest of students first! I’m the best person to do this”
According to him,his vision is to champion the total welfare of students. “My core campaign message is centered on Advocacy for the total welfare of students, seeking to address welfare related issues, that is academics, entertainment and sports amongst others” he said.
